Featuring Property from the Collection of:
Gary M. Douglas and Dr. Dain Heer
Born in St. Louis, Gary M. Douglas has honed his talents to become a best selling author, counselor, eccentric, and world traveler. After starting his passion for collecting at the age of 19, Gary established ‘The Antique Guild’ in Brisbane, Australia where he is an acting curator and taste-maker. Drawn to the curiosities and intrigues of collecting, he determined that he would share his knowledge and passion with those who show a similar appreciation.
Dr. Dain Heer is an internationally renowned entrepreneur, speaker and best-selling author. A conscious and creative business leader with a profound understanding of the power of art, Dr. Heer draws upon his personal experience and unique perspective to invite people from every culture to appreciate and better understand the world around us.
As internationally-recognized thought leaders, business innovators, and philanthropists, their practices have influenced celebrities, corporate executives, teachers, and health professionals worldwide. The majority of this shared collection was acquired in the 1980’s and 90’s from globally recognized auction houses and galleries. Selkirk is pleased to offer the combined African and Ethnographic Art collection of Gary M. Douglas and Dr. Dain Heer.
The Gary M. Douglas Estate will donate a portion of the proceeds from this auction to the Saint Louis Art Museum Foundation (FEIN 43-1374479) to benefit the acquisition of African Art through the Department of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas Art Purchase Fund.
