COLLECTION OF OBJECTS, DOCUMENTS AND EPHEMERA FROM STATESMAN WALTER C. PLOESER (ST. LOUIS, 1907-1993)
Large lot that includes a diplomatic license plate from Costa Rica, three (3) Richard Nixon White House correspondences with a letter signed by Richard Nixon, and 2 initialed. Three (3) vintage photographs of "Richard Nixon" caricatures by Claudio Carazo (1916-2006). Also included are folders containing diplomatic documents and correspondence from Costa Rica and Paraguay. Numerous personalized leather briefcases and attache cases, and desk items such as signature stamps and two ceramic paperweights from Ploeser, Watts & Company. Numerous official and personal photographs, folders labeled "Masonic Affairs", "Appointment Deputy Supreme Council", "DeMolay Hall of Fame 11/13/86". Loose silver coins all pre 1964 comprising 1 dollar, 6 1/2 dollars, 10 quarters and 30 dimes. Also, an 1885 Morgan Dollar and 1883 Liberty V nickel, in case, collectors' mint quarter, a 1-ounce 2003 "Holiday Greetings" coin and a 1921 Morgan Dollar money clip. Walter C. Ploeser (1907-1993) was born in St. Louis and served as ambassador to Paraguay under Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1957-1959, chairman of the board of the Salvation Army from 1967-1969, and ambassador to Costa Rica under Richard Nixon from 1970-1972.

Shipping

Shipment is the full responsibility of the buyer. Selkirk will not be responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or otherwise responsible for any items left in Selkirk's possession fifteen (15) days after the sale. If arrangements for shipping have not been made and communicated within thirty (30) days, Selkirk reserves the right, at this time, to charge a storage fee of $10 per lot per day for furniture and large format items and $5 per lot per day for all other items, and within sixty (60) days, at its own discretion, sell any items left on the premises. Accumulated fees resulting from storage and insurance cost will be taken out of any proceeds.

Objects that contain materials of endangered or protected species may be subject to regulations disallowing export and import into other states or countries. It is the buyer's responsibility to be aware of all applicable laws and regulations and to obtain any required export or import licenses or certificates and any other required documentation.
