Heist Headlines Selkirk’s First High-Quality Eclectic Auction

The portrait of the majestic imported German coach stallion, HEIST 2043, headlined the first Eclectic Auction held by Selkirk Auctioneers and Appraisers in the St. Louis market which took place Saturday, November 7th. In a classic “road show” moment that prompted spontaneous applause from the full house, the 1902 oil painting by renowned early 20th century painter J. F. Stephens sold for $6,120 -- more than forty times the investment made by the seller.
