Selkirk Inaugural Auction and Renovation Reveal Attracts Hundreds to St. Louis’s Central West End
The newly renovated Selkirk Auctioneers and Appraisers gallery in St. Louis’s historic Central West End opened with a Preview Party on July 30, 2015. The following day a full house of bidders in the gallery, and via phone and internet, participated in the Selkirk Inaugural Auction, which offered more than 600 rare, beautiful and unexpected items spanning five centuries and six continents.
St. Louis VIPs, members of the antiques and fine arts community, friends and family joined the Jeffers and their staff to celebrate the opening.
Selkirk’s is fully outfitted with the latest technology to engage guests in an exceptional live auction environment and connect bidders from around the world in real time. In addition, the gallery will serve as a venue for educational events, book talks, and complimentary meeting space for nonprofit organizations in partnership with Selkirk.
Jeff Jeffers said, “The [hundreds of] people who consigned or bid in our inaugural auction absolutely reinforce our belief that St. Louis has the quality to be the preeminent destination for valuable antiques, fine art, decorative arts, jewelry and historical artifacts.”
