Description:

ANSONIA MANTEL CLOCK.
American, early 20th century, metal alloy and marble. Two male figures in period garb flank by the body of elaborate clock encasement having round porcelain face. Marks to movement. 21"h. 26"w. 8.5"d.

  • Condition: Pendulum stick is attached to the works, but the lead disc part of the pendulum is in the bottom of the case, so not attached. But, as the key is present, when wound, the works do work, and the hands do move, AND the clock does chime at the top of the hour. The gilt metal bound glass covering over the dial is no longer attached to the hinge, but does snap into place securly to cover the face. The back brass access door to the works is not attached either, but present and also fits securly into place.
Both swords are presently off of both of the figures, but present. As you look at the clock, the figure on the right is broken at the back ankle (his left).
