American, third-quarter 20th century. First and only edition of ASPEN No. 7 - BRITISH BOX in 15 sections.
Aspen Magazine was published in 1965 - 1971, by Roaring Fork Press, Inc., 333 Sixth Avenue, NYC, NY 10014, USA. This very rare arts periodical was to have been issued quarterly, but never to fruition. Some issues, sent in sections, remained incomplete and never rectified for many subscribers. Others simply never arrived at all. Phyllis Johnson was editor and publisher. This issue compiled by Mario Amaya and designed by John Kosh, cover designed by Richard Smith.

Smith (1926-2018); professor emeritus Sam Fox School of Design at Washington University in St. Louis, renowned draftsman, artist, and fountain designer with several commissioned projects including Cincinnati’s Taft Museum, the St. Louis Zoo, and the MUNY Opera in Forest Park. 10" square 1.1"d.
