COLLECTION OF YELLOW SALT GLAZED AND STAFFORDSHIRE PITCHERS
English. Eleven (11) pieces. The largest a Ridgway showing a tavern and equestrian scenes, an E. Jones-Cobridge in a vertical leaf design, Charles Meigh gothic Apostle pitcher, Charles Meigh Gothic windows pitcher with pewter lid, Ridgway with Dionysus among scrolling leaves and figural handle, another decorated with a scene of monkeys and pewter lid (possibly by E. Jones), a Copeland jug with floral wreath decoration and pewter lid, a Ridgway showing jousting knights, smaller Ridgway showing a tavern and equestrian scenes with pewter lid, one showing a dog hunting scene with dog form handle, and the smallest decorated allover with flowering vines of Scottish thistle.

  • Dimensions: Tallest: 10 1/2 in. (26.7 cm.)
  • Condition: Meigh with gothic windows has a short horizontal crack at the neck and the bottom of the handle floureses under blacklight. Pitcher with monkey scene has been repaired as a crack is seen high on the neck and up to the rim with glue repair seen on the interior. Smaller Ridway with tavern and equestrian scenes with crack to handle and the inside lights up under blacklight (??).

Shipping

Shipment is the full responsibility of the buyer. Selkirk will not be responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or otherwise responsible for any items left in Selkirk's possession fifteen (15) days after the sale. If arrangements for shipping have not been made and communicated within thirty (30) days, Selkirk reserves the right, at this time, to charge a storage fee of $10 per lot per day for furniture and large format items and $5 per lot per day for all other items, and within sixty (60) days, at its own discretion, sell any items left on the premises. Accumulated fees resulting from storage and insurance cost will be taken out of any proceeds.

Objects that contain materials of endangered or protected species may be subject to regulations disallowing export and import into other states or countries. It is the buyer's responsibility to be aware of all applicable laws and regulations and to obtain any required export or import licenses or certificates and any other required documentation.
