Oil on canvas, signed lower right S. Ferat. A vertical Cubism landscape with figures and animals highlighted by industrial symbolism. The reverse bearing label of Lucien Lefebvre-Foinet 19 rue Vavin, Brea, Paris VI and W.S. Budworth & Son, Packers & Shippers, 424 West 52nd St., New York with cursive pencil notation "Sterner". Painted circa 1930-31.

About the artist: Born into Russian nobility as a count, Alexander Rudniev attended the School of Fine Art in Kiev and later Academie Julien after his arrival to Paris in 1901 where he later became heavily involved in the Parisian avant-garde movement and known as Serge Ferat under the influence and association of Pablo Picasso.
