A single owner forty-year collection of blue and white Delft pottery spanning mid 18th to early 20th century. Over 40 lots of hand selected examples. Scarce forms within the collection include a five portrait plaque, a pair of lidded tobacco jars, a wired birdcage, and an elaborate Neptune sleigh.

Touted by People Magazine and The Wall Street Journal as the “Queen of Crowns”, Holly Hardwick utilized her Manhattan penthouse on Fifth Avenue as a showroom and major destination for rhinestone and crystal jewelry. After acquiring the license for Miss America Jewelry, she began designing crowns for pageants worldwide. No stranger to pageantry herself, Holly was crowned “Ms. New York 1997”, “Ms. Connecticut 1998”, and “America’s Perfect Lady” in 1998. As a designer, she created the Red Ribbon Awareness pin for AIDS research at AMFAR alongside Elizabeth Taylor and Elton John. She has also worked with The Children’s Defense Fund, American Cancer Society, Greenpeace, and countless other organizations.

An avid world traveler and vivacious collector, Holly currently resides in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis where she continues to run her business, Holly Hardwick Crowns. Selkirk is pleased to offer many items from the personal collection of Holly Hardwick.

The Gary M. Douglas Estate will donate a portion of the proceeds from this auction to the Saint Louis Art Museum Foundation (FEIN 43-1374479) to benefit the acquisition of African Art through the Department of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas Art Purchase Fund.
